WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Theodore J. Forstmann bought 600,000 shares of XO
Communications Inc. (XOXO) Class A common stock, according to an amended
Schedule 13D filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Forstmann, general partner of a fund managed by private investment firm
Forstmann Little & Co., beneficially owns 800,000 XO Communications Class A
common shares.
Between March 20 and April 3, he bought 600,000 shares for prices ranging
from $3 to $8.868 a share. The shares were purchased for investment purposes,
according to the SEC filing.
As reported last Thursday, Forstmann, Little invested $250 million in the
company, helping the company fund its operations into the first half of 2003.
According to the SEC filing, Forstmann Little beneficially owns 26,976,283
Class A shares of XO Communications, which constitutes a 9.2% stake in the
company.
McLean, Va.-based XO Communications offers fiber optic and broadband wireless
communications services in 49 U.S. markets.
