Be even worse. But it is more important to claim that SS is actually bankrupt and that the trust fund doesn't even exist. Heck, it is even more important to claim that the government might default on the bonds at any moment. A claim that, in and of itself, might trigger such a sell off. But nothing is more important than the "self-actualization" of social security. Even if it means gut shooting the economy to do it...
