BALA CYNWYD, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1998--The following
statement was issued today by the law firm of Schiffrin Craig &
Barroway LLP:
A class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of all persons who
acquired Alcatel SA ("Alcatel") (NYSE:ALA) common stock in connection
with Alcatel's acquisition of DSC Communications Inc.
The complaint charges Alcatel and certain of its officers and
directors with artificially inflating the price of Alcatel common
stock by issuing a series of false and misleading statements and press
releases to conceal the company's true financial condition and
operating performance.
The complaint also alleges that defendants delayed disclosing
material adverse information until after the merger had closed.
Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of class members and
is represented by the law firm of Schiffrin Craig & Barroway LLP, who
has significant experience and expertise prosecuting class actions on
behalf of investors and shareholders.
If you are a member of the class described above, you may, not
later than Nov. 17, 1998, move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff of
