Barry, while there are issues with mkt cap/gdp ratio I believe it is useful when you look at the mkts history. I do not know to what extent the output of privately held companies affects the ratio but it confirms along with other valuation measures that the U.S. mkt is more overvalued than at anytime in history. I'm not a good mkt timer but my guess is new highs are possible this month but I expect Q1 earnings warnings in March/April. Garfield Drew said stocks don't trade for what they are worth but what people think they are worth. Mike
