I am no expert on the subject of your query. I do not believe the transition can be smooth since the playing field is not equal for all participants.

It would seem Euro-Dollars could play either way on the LB market. I am betting US Treasury Bonds will absorb European assets and interest rate will drop. There are some concerns, for example, regarding the German ability to carry E. Germany. When was the last time the French cooperated with anything that was not to their direct advantage?

Good lord -- carrying the field analogy along -- those guys can't even host a soccer match much less coordinate a new monetary system.
