A recent WSJ article addressed the issue of back-end-loaded quarters. The article cites Avid Technology as an example of another company that restructured its sales strategy to eliminate the end-of-quarter sales "hockey stick". (Being the helpful fellow that I am, I emailed a copy to Ascend Communications to aquaint them with the concept. <g>)
