Berkshire reveals holding in Automatic Data

NEW YORK, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Warren Buffett's (News) Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRKa) on Thursday revealed a holding in employer services company Automatic Data Processing Inc. (NYSE:ADP) after losing a battle on Wednesday to keep the stake secret.

The Omaha, Nebraska-based company in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said it owned 394,600 shares of ADP worth $13.7 million as of Sept. 30, 2002.

The filing was originally sent to the SEC in November with a request that the information not be made public but that request was denied on Wednesday.

Berkshire has often sought to delay disclosing certain holdings. It is concerned some investors might try to mimic Buffett, the world's second-richest person according to business magazine Forbes, and push prices of some securities higher while Berkshire is still trying to buy.
