No Free Lunch, Part 2: If abiotic oil exists, where is it?

fromthewilderness.com

"...if you insist that the standard explanation of oil formation is the result of some conspiracy, then you have already stepped outside of the realm of scientific investigation."

Hydrocarbons are a FINITE resource being consumed at a rate of one BILLION barrels every 11.5 days. The total estimated amount of recoverable oil on earth is around 2.2 Trillion barrels, and we've already used 1 trillion*. Once we extract half of all the recoverable oil, production will begin its inevitable and permanent decline. Sayonara industrial civilization.

*The USGS estimates that there are 3 trillion barrels of recoverable reserves; you can do some research to find out why this is absolutely false, or you can just wait a few years and realize it first hand. If oil wasn't going to peak until 2035 like the USGS claims, we would not be experiencing these current shortages and we would not be seeing the steady erosion of spare capacity we've seen over the last few years.
