WHAT: The 1997 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from New York
City's Radio City Music Hall on Thursday, September 4. The
event will be hosted by Chris Rock and feature performances
from Beck, Jamiroquai, Jewel, Lil' Kim (featuring Da Brat,
Missy 'Misdemeanor' Elliott, Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes and Angie
Martinez), Marilyn Manson, Prodigy, Puff Daddy (featuring
Faith Evans, 112 and MASE), Spice Girls, U2, The Wallflowers
and a host of surprise appearances. Top nominees include
Jamiroquai, Beck, nine inch nails, The Wallflowers, No Doubt
and Jewel. The star-studded presenters list includes Madonna,
Elton John, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and Will Smith.
