less than zero- you know when yopu are margined long and cannot sell your shares- you cannot sell until you find a buyer- and to do so you would have to a} obtain the share certificates- borne at your expense and then hook up with a person who sold short and come to some agreement whereas you sell those certificates and use the costs to offset your margin.{ you will still hafta pay for the shares you margined}- therefore less than zero
the bulk of short sellers are out way before this- and iuf you don't believe the top theory- fine- but consult your broker's margin agreement- they force you out either through a t or their margin rules and force you to leave with aroubd 40% of your cash-{yes you lost 60% but in a limitless- therefore "topless"- you still don't lose it all}
hey good luck- better learn the rules before you play- because you can only be lucky for so long.
