"Do you know how much Bob is up YTD? I checked his website and it doesn't have that information."
Why do you want to know? Two weeks ago you said he was irrelevant.
Subscribers can get that information once a month, by comparing the back page of the latest issue with the January issue. If you're not a subscriber, you can get it off the Web site if you plan ahead, by making a record of the portfolio balances each January.

There seems to be huge difference of opinion here when it comes to Brinkers talents regarding the stock market. Some folks think he has some mystical ability that few can match. Just look at the introduction at the top of this forum.

"Move over Elaine Garzarelli. Bob Brinker has been
dead-on about the US stock market, at least since
the late 1980's. Mr. Brinker has made fortunes both
for those who subscribe to his newsletter and for
those who routinely listen to his weekend radio show,
"MoneyTalk", on the ABC Network. Bob's accuracy
about the stock market can best be described as uncanny.
He has vanquished other market timers deftly with his
predictions and, yet, curiously gets little attention
in the press, much less than, say, the aforementioned
"her Ladyship", who pronounced a disastrous sell signal
at the exact bottom of the 1996 market.
It would be interesting to hear from fellow travelers
of the "Starship Moneytalk", as Brinker has it, and
from subscribers to his newsletter with their thoughts,
opinions, and reminiscences."

Yet others here contend that he is a phoney. Well numbers don't lie. Brinker is on record on his radio program that we are in a bull market and he is highly critical of "the Bears". Thanks for telling me how to compute his YTD performance. His website has his current value as of the end of May. Portfolio 1 was at $204,345. I checked with a friend who subscribes and he said that as of 31 Dec 2004 portfolio 1 was at $209,885. This means he is down 2.6% on the year. I suppose I will be accused of bashing him now when all I have done, thanks to your help, is establish a fact about his performance so far this year.
