I agree somewhat about lawyers running things. Many times we are aware that "common sense" could save us from ourselves but we've been conditioned and indeed it's a prerogative to fight it out in the courts, to let the lawyers handle it, to live by the rule of law. Common law is pretty much dead and everything is easily elevated to a "federal case", not a good thing for the majority IMO as they lack the means to pursue justice at this level.

This holds true with federal regulations as well as laws. Hell they're even worse as they often have no appeals process.
