That's an accurate picture of the general attitude levelled against DEC. Cpq picks of a lot of negative opinion in the acquisition, no doubt about it. As to whether Dec service will still handle Dell products, that is rather silly. Now that DEC has no networking components and maintains a source-level expertise with NT, the two most troublesome aspects of the installations are covered without conflict of interest. I think PC maintenance has become an Oxymoron. If a PC ever recovers the durability beyond that of a BIC disposable shaver, then it might become relevant.
