Have you ever heard of a South Korean start-up called Menics? They got $3 million dollars in venture capital from a major Korean LCD manufacturer and came up with a machine that 'cuts' LCD wafers more efficiently (read: less chipping) because it uses a laser instead of an industrial diamond.
