I have a friend that has been trying to get me to buy HDWR for some time. I resisted as I hate chasing. This thing went from 1.5 to 15 or something close.
Today I found this post from "da bear". Any comments?
This is one hell of a ride if it is all hype.

I took a look at HDWR a few weeks ago. IMHO, this company is an absolute joke. Their synthetic fuel is composed of coal dust and a binder. By adding the binder to the coal, the overall chemical composition is changed enough to qualify for a federal tax subsidy as a synthetic fuel even though their process doesn't seem to do anything to leach out the sulphur or reduce ash. The big question is why would anyone bother using their coal dust briquets rather than plain coal? They claim that the big up front license fees they have been collecting are amortized over a period of time, but my stomach couldn't take reading any more of their 10-K to see if they are using straight line amortization (which would front load the revenue recognition a bit) or an accelerated amortization method (which would front load the revenue recognition a lot). Oh, and where do their customers get the cash to make the big up front payments? A subsidiary of HDWR lends the money to them.
