Looks like I'm going to become an early adopter. I was hoping to hold out until just after Christmas before I bought a DVD player, so I would get a better price. But, I discovered last night that my 3-year old VCR died. Bummer. My previous VCR lasted 13 years. I guess they just don't make them as sturdy as they used to. I think I'll buy the Toshiba second generation player. Even at $750, this is just a very tiny bit of the profits I've taken out of the CUBE in the last few years, so I guess I can consider this an investment in industry research. Any suggestions and/or recommendations. I definitely want a player with component output. I don't have a component monitor now but may buy one in the future. One thing I learned when I worked at TV/COM was how impressive a component monitor can look. Rick
