Twice in a few days, I've been directed to look at "Coogan's Bluff" - an old Clint Eastwood movie. I got there this time by checking out the Topper TV actors, and then one of the daughters of the actors - also an actor/actress. Can we say actress anymore?

In reading the plot, it sounds a lot like a metaphor for the Durham investigation - endemic corruption and the frustration at trying to resolve it.

I find it telling that Wikipedia highlights a couple of critical scenes of only a few minutes that were cut from the home video version. I have to ask - Why?

Seems to me like the "Elite" didn't want it to be known that Justice did prevail and they didn't want one of their special spots to become a tourist attraction. en.wikipedia.org

Funny that NYT didn't like it - too predictable, yet others said it might become a model for things to come, and for the next 25 years it did.

Reminds me of the line in Caddyshack - stated to Durham, et al
