US WAR/One hundred US troops killed: Iraqi envoy
Islamabad, March 24, IRNA -- Iraq's Ambassador to Islamabad, Abdul Hameed Rawi, has claimed that as many as 100 American troops have een killed in encounters with Iraqi forces. An Islamabad-based daily, Nawa-e-Waqt, quoted the Iraqi envoy as saying that the US had claimed that only ten of its troops had been killed. He accused the US media of misleading the world over its losses and the excesses the invading forces were committing on civilians in Iraq. Rawi came down heavily on the US for violating international laws and mounting unjustified war on his country. "Who has given US the right to change governments in other countries," he asked. He said that since the war started, 6,000 Iraqi civilians had been killed and injured due to massive bombardment by the US-led forces. The Western media, he alleged, is not portraying the facts as they are on ground. MHA/BH/RR End |
