It takes energy to produce metals, etc.. Lower cost of energy, means lower cost to produce silver. The traders may be thinking that a drop in the price of oil will result in lower prices of metals. True or not, this is the short term price reaction to the price of oil. After that, other factors set in such as currency dilution, investment demand etc.. JMHO.
