That, and the tax cuts and excess government spending (which has gone a very long way to prop up the economy). A balance between revenue and spending is normal and ethical; what we are doing now is not normal or ethical.

The economic cycle is not our enemy; it's cleansing. It's like a forest fire, it removes imbalances, and the aftermath is more vigorous and healthy.

By delaying the effects of the cycle, we have multiplied them. Instead of being naturally corrected, the imbalances have become severe. And the rebalancing will be severe.

We are too clever and arrogant for our own good.
