DJ,
Having exited AMD at $30, I feel pretty good in being able to give advice, so here it is.
AMD has a perception problem, as detailed by the many luminaries on the many threads, and the press in general.
Things are not all bad, but the perception, at least in my view, is that things will get worse, so now is not the time to load up on AMD. Once things settle down, it might be a good idea to look at AMD as a possibility.
Mkt share is the key. If they can keep mkt share, technical goodies, execution on delivery, antitrust, etc., will all work their collective ways out. So, your gateway comment, in my opinion, is very valid. Timing is everything, so he who times this one right on a shift in perception will do well.
Since my timing has gotten better over time, I'd suggest AMD will test the lows, and probably dip further than that before it becomes a good buy for speculator, long term, and trader alike.
Anyway,
I'm still waiting and following all the good comments, like yours and other on other threads, the news and the like, so good luck to you and all. |
