truedog, there are some theories being circulated that question any Y2K contingency plans that call for martial law or restriction of civil liberties. There are some who believe that the government is actively looking for reasons to target certain groups and organizations who may "potentially" pose a threat to national security. (Hope it's not just a lot of paranoia)

It is also speculated that if there are no offensive terrorist attacks made by these groups on or around Y2K, then the government will do everything in their power to provoke/attack these various "Right-Wing" groups so that these "potential threats" can be eliminated.
