The new generation of satellites is supposed to be able to use lasers to route across other satellites to the ground stations. Whether that functionality actually works, I have no idea. If they can't get it to work, well the whole idea fails. Unlike Noodles, I don't take that as a slam dunk, however likely I think it may be. Because I do understand the technology and the hurdles and lack the hero worship. Currently, it is little different than the other satellite internet providers from an enduser point of view. Latency should be better, but bandwidth is still low.
