Well, Neo, you are partially correct, the recession is mainly the fall out of the Dot Com bubble. The bubble exploded in March 2000 and had a false rebound into August 2000. After that if was a free fall, thus Greenspan and everyone else should have acted starting in Sept 2000, but that is hindsight. Greenspan acted first on January 3rd. Bush and co had all the signals even in November 2000 when Cheney said so! They chose to ignore the economy and have done so until the last two months and still have not put forth anything that really helps. As for Clinton he had four months to go when it was evident the Dot Com bust was going to take the house down some and he was really in no position to put anything in action.

So the Bush Administration ignored the economy and now is going to fix it by spending wildly on defense.

BTW, if Gore had been elected, I would suppose that economic fixes would have occurred much faster in early 2001.

But as you know hind sight is twenty twenty...
