Insurer expects Y2K crisis in Europe

AMSTERDAM, July 20 -Dutch credit insurer NCM
said on Monday that it was probably already too
late to avert a major computer crisis when the
millennium bug bites in 2000. A survey among
almost 3,000 European clients indicated that
most were taking measures to fix the software
glitch in which many computers are expected to
misread the year 2000 as 1900 - but only a few
had asked their customers and suppliers if they
were prepared.
