I don't know if Cheeky Kid is right about 98 being slower -- could well be on a slow processor, but I also believe it requires more RAM to run than 95. Being short on RAM could probably also give you the perception of slowness. They are both things to consider and ask your tech.

As for saving your favorites and emails that is nothing to worry about -- just let your tech know you want them.

You might also check the price difference for adding 64 or 128MB of RAM instead of just 32MB. You never have enough.

Also, a new version of 98 is coming out soon so you might want to wait for that (if it isn't already out).

You might also want to ask for an extra partition on your disk -- it can be helpful for backup if Windows gets corrupted, and there's really no drawbacks to it.
