Every Middle East expert I hear talk claims there will be a civil war whenever we leave, be it 10 days or 10 years.

The Sunni's were Bathists and have allegiance to the same party in Syria. The Shias hate the Bath party ( Saddam's party ) and are aligned with Iran. Throw in the Kurds and we polarize Turkey who claims they will never allow the Kurds to create their own independent state.

The three different factions two of which have it's own support from a neighboring country will constitute an "uprisal" of colossal size IMHO.

The winds of calamity are blowing already and the religious nature of the sides make it all the more volatile.
