Yes, You are probably right. Mormons still bitterly remember when Joseph Smith, a native New Yorker( palmyra NY)who was forced to move for his beliefs and in Carthage ILL, established his church. He was jailed and killed for his beliefs along with his brother. The fellow Mormons were driven out, some were murdered, their church, 20,000 homes and properties were destroyed and or burnt in 1840s.
