Newfie, I agree 100%! Although I wouldn't have put it so tactfully. That article he cited was straight up racist. "Ruined a once great country" - give me a break! If it was so great why did most countries of the world including the USA impose a trade embargo on it?
Whites usually only hear one side of the story. For instance white farmers' land being confiscated sounds shocking, but most of that land was originally confiscated from blacks, and not a long time ago, but within living memory, when Apartheid started in the 50s and 60s. In many cases the blacks are just trying to take back their own personal property.
Blacks never owned gold mines before. But if the World Bank wants to give people money to buy my stock, I don't mind! And if you want to talk about leadership, who is more impressive, the old white masters, or the black leaders who took over the country more or less peacefully (i.e. without a civil war) despite having all the police and army against them? Do you all know the story of Robben Island? It was South Africa's Alcatraz. They put many of the black political leaders there. These guys were so savvy they not only managed to convert the other prisoners to their side, but also the guards! They were teaching the white guards law, business, etc. when the warden wasn't looking. Eventually the guards went on strike! It sounds crazy but the facts are out there for anyone to check. Nelson Mandela's autobiography is a good place to start.
And in case someone says you don't know what you're talking about until you've been there, I have. I went on a business trip a couple years ago and worked mostly with a young black guy, who definitely had his s**t together. It was depressing to see how his white co-workers wouldn't talk to him in the cafeteria. But he could laugh about it.
Just because blacks want to break into the business world does not mean the sky is falling.
