Nobody is going to believe Kerry, Clark and Lieberman when they say they are endorsing Dean. Just too much bad blood out there
If no one cares about those guys, it won't matter much. They're marginalizing themselves, and can't seem to stop.
The intriguing thing about the anti-Dean attacks (incl. GOP), they're more heat than light. Doesn't seem to change anyone's mind, or the polls.
Who knows, maybe if they finally endorse Dean at the convention they'll regain some respect.
I heard some congressman supporting Kerry on Crossfire today, attempting to criticize Dean and answer Novak's question on the Iraq war, and he sounded like an idiot. Novak asked something like, "If one of your guys were pres. Saddham would still be in power". "No he wouldn't, I voted for the war! It was a mistake and I was misled, but I voted for it!"
Novak just grins in silence watching the congressman's expression as the contradiction of what he said sank in. I.e., a president Kerry wouldn't have gone to war, and Hussein would still be in, or pres Kerry would have misled them, and they'd be in the same fix as today.
The Dem candidates are a weak list. Except for Dean, the Washington Dems been bought and sold so many times they don't know which way is up. Bush Lite, indeed. Almost as corrupt as GOP, but less organized <vbg> |
