Soup, Motorola is an interesting, potential partner for wireless computing, internet access etc.

While this is all speculation about Apple's evolving marketing strategy, I believe Apple has big "wireless" plans in its future, which leads to all sorts of possibilities. One of which, certainly, is setting out to capture the majority segment of the consumer population (appliances, wireless webmates, computers etc.) and perhaps developing (or co-purchasing) an internet portal (education-based, consumer- based, whatever), which could transform Apple into a dominant, combined Internet and Hardware company i.e. a new breed, prepared for the next century.

Just speculation, of course. But Apple's work in establishing their "standard" on consumer appliances, plus their hoard of cash, plus their improving relationship with Motorola and 3Com, makes one wonder what's going on.
