Agree, in the short term, INTC's strength is in the LAN. In this space, PMCS does push ether chips. However, the competition in the LAN chip space is brutal. They could leap frog into the WAN market and exploit whatever LAN chips that PMCS may have that they don't already own (haven't checked the overlap, could be a killer).

Picture an "Intel Inside" sticker on every Cisco router or Ascend switch.

If INTC WAS(?) looking to get into the WAN chip market, is there a better place to start than PMCS (although a couple of months ago, PMCS was a steal compared to current valuations, especially with PMCS looking to build more intelligence into their chips.
