I for one don't want to tie up a phone jack with a lousy disk player. And I don't want yet another recurring monthly cost. When I buy a disk, I want to know that I can watch it at my discretion, including when the Divx pay-up-to-watch server is down. Power outages are the best time to pull-start the Honda and watch something.
This is the worst of both worlds. I have to store the disk on my premises, and someone gets automated royalties everytime I pop the stinking thimg into my player, which STILL doesn't record. If I only want to watch a 5min segment, are my charges pro-rated? What if I spend 1 hour frame-by-framing the nuke scene from T2?
