Stats are becoming less meaningful RAPIDLY... omicron spreads so rapidly stats can't catch up. I've listened to comments from protestors demanding their freedom. they have the freedom to choose not take the vaccine. they have the freedom to choose not wear a mask. they have the freedom to not believe health care workers who see first hand what this disease does. choices have consequences. businesses have the freedom to choose not to serve them. retailers have the freedom to choose to order them out of their establishments. employers have the freedom to establish regulations and choose who to employ. governments have the task of setting public health mandates. people in canada have the freedom to vote for the people who share and will represent their values. citizens have the right to protest but do not have the right to break laws or negatively impact your rights or mine. we all have to right to not be harassed. just regular folks with masks and vax that are tired of being mentally bludgeoned I don't see many masks on protesters and I don't see anyone protesting who is more "tired of being mentally bludgeoned" than the 90% who are not occupying the streets of Ottawa. I see angry people who need to strike out against something because covid is not going away fast enough or because the universe is not unfolding as it should for them, so let's blame the government - as if our elected officials are to blame for the ever changing virus circulating the globe. I see a whole lot of people who are getting caught up in a 'happening' for the excitement of it. I see bullies with their big trucks and loud horns who seem to think might makes right. sadly, I see foreign influence willingly embraced by the easily manipulated. And, as always, i see politicians willing to exploit the situation for political gain and power. We will survive this, but it will have changed us. not for the better.
