Don't forget Poitiers, Trafalgar and Waterloo.

Creamed 'em good.

It was a 5'2" Welshman and the longbow who finally overthrew the french autocracy.

But what they should have overthrew was the erosion of the freedoms of the Forest Charters that my ancestors drafted (no kidding) by years of Norman lawyering. They spent 200 years niggling and piggling with the Magna Carta to outlaw its more dangerous provisions that prevented the gov't from overwhelming the people. It's all about steal the money and land off the saxon peasants. And it's still going on. It's still the damned Normans in their castles stealing from the people. Trudeau: nobody can use crown land except the civil service. The army can stop people and search them. Well, who kidnapped James Cross? I would say some friends of Trudeau. Does the army need special powers in the Quebec weather emergency? Oh sure. No one needs special powers to arrest a law breaker.

I say back to petitions. No more Norman civil service running the country.

Its tragic that the only protection the citizen need is from the police and the government. It has always been so. Hiway robbers you can shoot. They have rigged the ballot box so it is poor weapon of defense. How is a candidate nominated? What power does he have once elected? Trudeau took all his powers. He used to be able to question government on budget matters, get questions answered. No longer, a back bencher is just a stiff. There is only one power in Canadian cabinet. That is the prime minister. He has more power than King John ever dreamed of. Trudeau ruled through orders in council not debate and law. 37,000 orders in council in ten years of cabinet. That is twelve a day. Twelve laws passed a day. No vote. No petition. No referendum, no discussion, no argument.

And omnibus bill: Citizens cannot be trusted with guns. Only minions of the king.

What are they afraid of?

We could try democracy instead. It's just a suggestion.
