It has been so obvious that MSFT leveraging domination in one market segment to dominate any other one it chooses to. As a techie, I'm grateful that the government finally succeeded in proving its case. MSFT is the guilty party and that's where the remedy should target. It does not make sense that the whole industry should be punished for MSFT's wrong doings. It's time to split up MSFT. I'm willing to bet that the MSFT holders will make out as bandits when the time comes. Just look at the return for the original AT&T holders. I just hope that some of the impossible things will happen such as compensation for MSFT's victims who suffered from MSFT's monopolistic moves.

I hope the DOJ will then move on the second half of the monopoly - Intel. If SUNW ever becomes a monopoly, I hope that the same level of scrutiny will also apply.

One cheer to do and hope more to come.
