What exactly have I said that you are having a hard time understanding?

Somebody said, "SAP fell less than most stocks today."

I said, "No, that's not true, it fell more than any of the averages."

You said, "You're comparing apples to oranges."

I said, "I was correcting the statement that SAP fell less than most stocks today. That statement was untrue regardless of whether or not we're comparing apples to oranges."

Now you're misrepresenting what I said and talking to me like I'm an idiot, which I don't appreciate.

YES, it is a fact that SAP has outperformed the indices handily this year. BUT it didn't fall "less than most stocks" TODAY - and that is all I have said.

Moreover, can you say with any certainty whether S&P outperformance is statistically correlated with volatility? Because that is what you're implying. There are plenty of stocks that outperformed the indices this year that fell LESS than the major indices today. Pfizer, for example.
