I think all my cluttered mind needs to know about LUMM is that it makes a product for which there will be explosive growth cheaper.

And hopefully if all those metro fiber networks get built out by competive carriers who avoid bankruptcy then there actually will be some competition for the Bells as envisaged by the Telecom Act of 1996. Unfortunately many seem to be going bankrupt.
