California Bans Sex By Mark Noonan

No, seriously - with Governor Schwarzenegger signing SB 777, California has banned the word "sex" from California law..it is now "gender". The specific bit of language now removed from California law by SB 777 (amongst its other radical-left provisions), is this:

"Sex" means the biological condition of or quality of being a male or female human being

That is out - and in line with this, as WND reports, the words "mom" and "dad" are also out:

Karen England, chief of CRI, told WND that the law is not a list of banned words, including "mom" and "dad." But she said the requirement is that the law bans discriminatory bias and the effect will be to ban such terminology.

"Having 'mom' and 'dad' promotes a discriminatory bias. You have to either get rid of 'mom' and 'dad' or include everything when talking about [parental issues]," she said. "They [promoters of sexual alternative lifestyles] do consider that discriminatory."

Her organization immediately filed with the state a plan to take the issue to the state's voters in a referendum as early as 2008. Yesterday, the institute issued a list of advisories because officials have been "overwhelmed" by those who are outraged by the state's actions.

"By filing the SB 777 referendum with the attorney general, CRFI seeks to bring SB 777 before the people of California for vote," the advisory said. "The vast majority of Californians are shocked when they learn of SB 777's purpose. We believe that if it is brought before the people, it will be overturned."

Read by a liberal judge (there are a few in California, ya know?), the changes to California law can be interpreted in very broad terms - and as the remedy for discrimination is a lawsuit (which can be filed by the government), it is easy to see that non-conformity to the most extreme leftwing positions on this will be just too costly for almost all Californians to bear. After all, just what does "gender" mean? Its not defined - there once was a specific definition of "sex", but that is now out...so, "gender" will mean what ever anyone wants it to mean...and if some fool of a teenager wants to cross dress and use the bathroom opposite his/her genuine sex, then that would be just an exercise of "gender", and to try and stop it would be considered discrimination.

The only remedies are for parents to withdraw their kids from the schools, and go the route of referendum...and I'm certain that once people understand the provisions of the law, SB 777 will go down in flaming defeat.

This is the "too far" that we've warned the left not to go for - this is a direct assault on, well, nearly everyone in the service of a radical agenda backed by a very tiny minority of Americans. Lets stop this thing right here, right now.
