Has this thread discuss before why Compaq seems to be having problems emulating Dell's profitable (50% growth) direct marketing strategy? Seems like Compaq should be able to have the best of both worlds... VARs to hand hold clients that need installations with the hardware, and direct BTO sales to customers that just want hardware alone. Like, what's the prob?
