I hear you. I'd like to know whether a "settled case" can be reopened. If so, that would introduce some level of suspicion back into the case. I would also like to know whether the settlement involved the funds being moved into an escrow account mainly for medical and legal expenses. I think he should get some money for his life being destroyed when the doctors made a foolish error, but not a lot of money.

Currently, the information on this thread shows he last tried to get money back in 1992 and hasn't tried to get any more money, even though her care has exceeded the cost of a million that he settled for back in 1992.

So overall, it does look like the husband's motives are pure since the case had settled for one million more than a decade ago, barely enough to care for her.

At the end of the day, people need to talk to their spouses about stuff like this and determine their positions up front.
