re Fuel Cells--The other big player is United Technologies, which has a unit making large units that seem to be for backup in case of failure of the main grid, in manufacturing plants, for instance. (UT's stock price doesn't move at all to developments in this area, I think).

Ballard's emphasis is almost totally on the transportation sector. Their competition, in the medium term at least, seems to be hybrid vehicles.

A guy named SteveH20 is apparently being paid to tout a company called DCH Technologies, for which I can find no patents, although they list in their SEC filings an exclusive license from Los Alamos for a small PEM fuel cell.
