Storm is expanding, eye getting tighter, wave heights reported over 30 feet and warmest water anywhere just south of New Orleans is at an incredible 91-92 degrees per FOX news. Weather guy on FOX, Joe Bastardi, said a lot of what you said about wetlands and bay to the east of town. He showed the path of Betsy which passed to the west of the city as being much less dangerous for a number of reasons already discussed here but also the water is cooler there.
