Interesting point you're making since these new developments like the internet and to some point biotechnology, which the impact on the markets will be felt later in the new millenium, have confused economists, analysts and investors in general as to what "value" should now be based on, or what is a correct p/e ratio if one at all. I am of the opinion that over time, internet based technologies and the new e-businesses will create a tremendous amount of new wealth as it has already but I think the speed at which it all happened was more influenced by greed than fundamentals. A handfull of companies cannot be at the source of a healthy economy. A good correction now would prevent a disaster later.
