Among current “new money buys” I’d list AOL Time Warner (AOL, news, msgs), Applied Materials (AMAT, news, msgs), E*Trade Group (ET, news, msgs), Exodus Communications (EXDS, news, msgs), JDS Uniphase (JDSU, news, msgs), Metromedia Fiber Network (MFNX, news, msgs), RF Micro Devices (RFMD, news, msgs) and Yahoo! (YHOO, news, msgs). I’d give new “new money buy” ratings to i2 Technologies (ITWO, news, msgs) and Qualcomm (QCOM, news, msgs). To make room for those stocks, I’m dropping my “new money buy ratings” on Intel (INTC, news, msgs) and Openwave Systems (OPWV, news, msgs). I think the uncertainty is still rising for those two companies and I’d prefer to wait until business trends are clearer. |
