I don't know much about the technology Pixar uses, but it seems to me that it will eventually be used for standard movies not just cartoons. Movies like Jurassic Park could be done directly without all the steps of painting T-Rex skin over a skeletal matrix. World War II movies could be done after all the airplanes and tanks are in museums. THAT's where I see the potential. Cartoons are just a precursor to that. How long it will take to get to that point I don't know, but that is why I am long.
