Sure their are Jaz failures. They've shipped close to 1,000,000 Jaz drives. If you have a 1% failure rate, which isn't bad for a removable media device of the Jaz variety you would have over 10,000 failures.

Removable media by nature means it gets transported and subjected to a variety of traumas which produces problems. I'm sure that the SyJet hasn't had as many reported problems because they probably haven't shipped 10,000 drives.

Jaz will have more issues (as will the SyQuest products) because of the "hard disk" type platters they use. That is one of the beauties of the Zip disks with the flexible media. The media isn't as susceptable to failure due to drops.
