The Dow was down 18.54 to 7274.21 and the Nasdaq slipped 10.60 to 1333.59. On the economic front, the Commerce Department reported retail sales fell 0.3 percent in April, in line with expectations. Those results kept inflation fears in check.

Intel [Intc] was down 6 3/4 to 152 3/8 after Digital Equipment said it filed a patent infringement suit against the chip maker. Intel and Digital were the most active stocks on the Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange, respectively. Digital [Dec] was up 2 1/4 to 35 3/8.

Among other Nasdaq movers, Cisco [Csco] slipped 9/16 to 62 3/8,<<
