QuadK: "...the multimillion $$ ones that were released a few months ago, but the amounts weren't reported..."

Are you suggesting that Novell had Q2 income that they did not report? How can they not report it? Or, are you suggesting that the income from the referenced partnerships start with Q3?

Your point about the upgrade incentive appears to have merit and hopefully the program will result in early sales or commitments to purchase NetWare 5.

And as has been demonstrated before, announcements of new products or other opportunities, can have a more dramatic effect on the stock than earnings. So, even if Novell doesn't meet the estimate, the stock can still benefit from the perception that Novell is recovering and will do better in the next quarters.

My earnings guess is simply that. Others on this thread have tried to estimate earnings, many times before, but few have come close--with the exception of a couple.

Can someone take public information, SEC filings, Novell press releases, and product evaluations, etc., and arrive at a close estimate of earnings?

Regards,

Elmo
