Depends on what you mean by an argument.

It has a different meaning in terms of logic than it typically would when someone says "I had an argument with my wife".

By the later definition, I might agree that no one wins when the argument is heated and with someone close to you. But in other contexts (say mild arguments about some important issue with people who aren't close to you) the direct wining of the argument might be more important that the stress and other negative effects of the argument.

Sort of like war. In one sense one side often wins (although there have been many inconclusive wars), in another sense no one wins (all sides incur death and destruction), but in at least a few cases what is won is clearly outweighs the negative. That's probably the exception rather than the rule, it might even be a rate exception, but its not impossible or something that never occurs.
